“The storyteller’s Puzzle” Jeløy - 12. february - 1. may 2022
"The Storyteller`s Puzzle» commissioned by Municipality of Moss and exhibited at groupshow «Seven contemporary artists meet Edvard Munch`s Art" at Naturhuset Jeløy, by Gallery F 15.
In the continuation of Yttredal's investigation of the nature conservation landscape on Jeløy in connection with the exhibition and the book "In the world" which she published last autumn, she became aware of hollow trees in the area that are reminiscent of living beings with stories to tell. An old tree depicted in the painting that still exists at Kubberød gården, a meeting place for artists and mesen in Munch's Moss period, is intended to invite to reflection upon connections between nature and culture. "The Storyteller`s Puzzle" is intended as an open question on the theme of Munch's painting "History", which is part of the Aula decoration, including the consequences of displacement of habitats for life on earth. Yttredal's painting is shown at the same time as the large Munch exhibition at Gallery F 15, as both focus on the period when Munch lived and worked on Jeløya.

I fortsettelsen av Yttredals undersøkelse av naturvernlandskapet på Jeløy i forbindelse med utstillingen og boken "I verden" som hun ga ut høsten 2021, ble hun oppmerksom på hule trær i området som minner om levende vesener med historier å fortelle. Et gammelt tre fremstilt i maleriet som fortsatt finnes ved Kubberød gården, et møtested for kunstnere og mesener i Munchs Mosseperiode, er ment å invitere til refleksjon rundt forbindelsen mellom natur og kultur. "The Storyteller`s Puzzle" er tenkt som et åpent spørsmål til temaet i Munchs maleri «Historien", som er del av Aula utsmykningen, blant annet om hvilke konsekvenser forskyvninger av habitater kan ha for livet på jorden, og hvor veien går videre herfra. Yttredals maleri vises samtidig med den store Munch utstillingen på Galleri F 15, da begge fokuserer på perioden da Munch bodde og arbeidet på Jeløya.
