Connections across time and space 1 & 2

The lighting sculptures “Connections across Time and Space 1 & 2" are created as three-dimensional paintings. Painted with layers of iridescent and transparent medias on glass plate, they are illuminated by LED-light integrated in aluminum profiles. As they can be placed both indoors and outdoors, they interact with the surrounding light and change appearance according to the time of day and season. The symbolism of the tree binds together cycles in nature and in human life. Trees branch out, extend towards the heaven, they might also remind of arterie - and nerve - system in the human body or might allude to invisible connections between people and places. The Nordic myths tell that the first humans Ask and Embla were created by the world tree Yggdrasil. Trees are also a symbol in our fight against climate change. The two lighting sculptures have been exhibited several places, to symbolize the changeable but also the eternal, as invisible connections between people and their relationship to nature. In the heart of the city of Oslo they framed the main entrance of Hotel Continental, which gained a monumental feel. At the new district Tjuvholmen, outside Fine Art Gallery, their reflections in the pond created a fairytale in the urban jungle. Size H2000 x B800 mm x D 89 mm
Lysskulpturene “Connections across Time and Space 1 & 2” er utformet som tredimensjonale malerier i byrommet. De er utført i en teknikk utviklet av meg, med iriserende og transparente medier lag på lag på akrylglassplater som samspiller med integrert LED lys montert i aluminumsprofiler. Plassert innendørs eller utendørs, varierer lysskulpturenes uttrykk i forhold til døgn og årstider, i et kontinuerlig spill av farge og lys. Treets symbolikk binder sammen sykluser i naturen og i menneskets liv. Trær forgrener seg, strekker seg mot himmelen. De kan også minne om arterie - og nervesystemet i menneskekroppen, eller antyde usynlige forbindelser mellom mennesker og steder. De nordiske mytene forteller om Ask og Embla som ble skapt av verdenstreet Yggdrasil. Trærne er også symbol for vår kamp mot klimaendringer. De to lysskulpturene er blitt stilt ut flere steder, for å fremheve det foranderlige, men også det evige, som usynlige forbindelser mellom mennesker og deres forhold til naturen. I hjertet av Oslo, rammet de inn hovedinngangen til Hotel Continental som fikk et monumentalt preg. På Tjuvholmen utenfor galleri Fine Art speilet de seg i et tjern og skapte et lite eventyr i det urbane jungelen. Mål H2000 x B800 mm x D 89 mm
